My Sims 3 family has only five members, but keeping up with them means pausing the game every thirty seconds so I can know what they're up to and stop them if they're about to do something stupid.

I'm debating having one of the kids move out on their own when they reach adulthood, and then playing his/her household. But I have story progression on, and I'd miss the adults (who will be elders) and the other two kids...

What do you think I should do? Anyone else have similar problems?
