I just started wondering something...

Why are there raids in MMOs anyway? Can't they just add content for higher and higher level characters instead of adding raid content? People... actually LIKE raiding? D: Say it aien't so!

Maybe a game company should make an MMO like I thought of. Or if it's true and people "enjoy" raiding they could make a game that is JUST raid after raid starting from the beginning hehe. :)

The only raid I've only ever wanted to participate in was the raid on the Horde cities to kill their leaders. I've only been in a couple and they weren't that successful. xD

Raiding doesn't sound fun. It sounds like it gets boring fast.

It was stressful for me. I think there's a lot of disappointment in it though.

Do you lose your stuff like in Rune?

Nah, but the treasure is shared and if several people want an item you find, it's randomly determined who gets it. And if it's a rare drop you've been wanting it really sucks hehe. Plus if things go wrong (like on bosses) everyone dies and you have to run all the way back and try again... which happened A LOT when I did it. :)

And when I raided people would go afk like every twenty minutes which made other people want to go afk and I remember sitting and waiting for over half an hour once while people put their damn children to bed and then when they started to come back everyone quit so it was a huge waste of time. Children... always children need something which holds everything up hehe. I don't want to wait around because someone's baby is crying you know? I didn't have my own children for a reason. :P

I love MMOs and I've been a raider back in WoW Lich King days, but hated it. Now I just stay away (and from pvp too. ick.)

... man, two of the big things that turn me off to MMOs are raids and pvp. (Well, and monthly subscription and having to log in to a server and deal with lagtime/downtime when you just want to get your game on.) But now I am curious about what non-raid, non-pvp MMO gaming looks like!

Well the other day a new sorta friend of mine wanted to "powerlevel" me desperately but I didn't want that. Then she wanted to do a group dungeon with me, but I didn't want that either. She said, "You better get used to dungeons!" But, why? Why do I need that part of the game? And basically when I told her I wasn't interested in raiding, dungeons, grouping and pvp she thought I was really weird.
