Oh for good donuts. I can't believe what I've spent the last 4 or 5 hours doing. -_-
In EQ2 there are these Lore & Legends quests that you can pick up by defeating certain types of monsters. Gobbolins, Orcs, Fairies, Treants etc. Not all monsters have them though. How you get them is by getting lucky and looting a body part off a dead one and you examine it and then you need to find 7 or 8 more different things. I've been doing this for so long I'm going to have dreams of farming the stuff I fought.
I have two main characters so I wanted the rewards on both. You get an attack that does a huge amount of damage to the type of monster you studied for one. My Ranger's is a range attack and it doesn't clutter up your hotbars because it's the same attack for all the ones you've completed and you can mouse over it to see the list.
The other reward was why I was doing it though. You get a book (that you can read) and a trophy weapon you can place in your house. :D
On my Ranger I managed to grind out 3 types: Bixies, Fairies & Treants. I did the same with my Paladin, but I did skeletons too.
Some of the parts you can buy and some you can't and some like the Bixie and Treant parts sell for several platinum. I have a few extras so I'll hopefully get something else out of my grinding... for hours. XD
Even Joshypoo thinks it's really odd I farm mobs in EQ. I never did that in other games. I guess they never gave me a good enough reason to. :P
I think I need a long break from playing now. :P
